His little life only ever knew both mental and physical abuse, to the extent the whole of the UK are outraged at the apparent lack of justice relating to this beautiful little child that was in need, like that of any other child to be nurtured, fed and loved. Who makes these laws that seemingly fail to deliver when passing sentence. I read the news today that had baby Peter survived all this horrible abuse he would (according to 'experts') have become a feral child causing nothing but trouble and aggro on our streets. The abuse he suffered would have scarred him that much he would have become a troublesome yob by the teenage years.. I am in no way at all defending them, for the atrocities they have committed, but the fact that this group has been created with a view to inciting the torture and or murder of the alleged perpetrators of these crimes is no better than they. Child abuse is clearly wrong, but it exists, and there is a system to deal with it. i read the father and grandmother of baby p are heartbroken about what happened - did they not notice his back and ribs were broken - his fingertips cut off and fingernails pulled out? I have two beautiful boys and i can see when either one of them has so much as a red mark on them. they are to blame as well as anyone because they could have stopped the torture. The reason for T Connolly and Barker's court order is not for there own good it is because hopefully there will be more charges against them which should increase jail time and revealing their identity would prejudice their trial. I can empathize with peoples anger and emotion, but agree with the comment regarding violence not being the answer. Its a knee jerk reaction. Their lives in prison and upon release wont be full of joy. That we know for certain. The answer lies in finding a way to not let this happen again. However that may be. Sadly I imagine it will happen again. Saddens me beyond words. And ive not an ounce of faith in our professionals. Ive planted a pot of daffodil bulbs. I always thought I was against capital punishment as I think its societies responsibility to understand such vile criminals and forgive them and help them change (after a suitably long punishment that acts as a detererent to others). But I find this single case has changed my view. There is no remorse in this mother and her cohorts (the shear length of time this attrocity was being perpetrated for is testimony to that) for this outrage and I genuinely feel that society would be better off morally by making an example of all three of them as a deterant to others.
